The course promotes critical thinking skills while utilizing the Recognition, Activation, Protection, Identification, Decontamination, and Care (RAPID-Care) concept. The multi-discipline make-up of the participants helps to strengthen information sharing, communications, and medical surge capabilities.
Medical Management of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive (CBRNE) Events
provides a strong emphasis on a whole-community team approach to responding to incidents, including
those caused by CBRNE or a coordinated complex violent event. The course is delivered using a
combination of facilitated discussions, small-group exercises, Human Patient Simulator hands-on
scenarios, and traditional classroom discussions.
Exercises are conducted in CBRNE scenarios using both adult and pediatric Human Patient Simulators
to reinforce classroom lectures and interaction. This course promotes critical thinking skills while utilizing
